Child Prostitution

I found it so hard to believe that it is actually true - I couldn't believe that people would happily sell their own children for such a small price, or actually sell them at all!! I couldn't believe that older men could happily have sex with girls as young as 12/13. The whole idea of prostitution is just horrible, and I couldn't imagine it at all, and that it really is SO common in Brazil and the world.
We were driving through the city last night, and we went down one road and it was lined with women wearing practically nothing, ready to sell themselves to random men who wanted sex....it broke my heart - to actually see them, I wanted to stop the car and tell them of their value, that this is not what they are meant to be doing, that they have gifts and talents and could do way more with their life. They get caught so easily in this cycle that this is all they can do...

I cannot imagine the people who are being trafficked are actually peoples - sisters, niece, school friend, childhood friend, mother, daughter, a real human being, actually go through this...
