Last weekend, two friends and I went for 2 adventures...It was so nice to see other parts of the state I am living in, and do something fun after the last 3 intense months...
Adventure One: Ouro Preto (Translates: Black Gold)
Ouro Preto is a colonial town, with really old buildings and pretty churches and cobbled streets, I do not really know much about the history - something to do with money and slaves I think!!
(Really should research about it!) Here are some of the pictures....

This building is now the museum, cannot remember what it was before - sorry!

Adventure Two: Serra do Cipo
This is an area within a national park in Minas Gerais the state I live in, about 2.5 hours from Belo Horizonte. We stayed here over night and saw some really beautiful waterfalls...
 |
| Cachoeira Grande - Large waterfall |
 |
| My friend Rachel (from the school) and I under the waterfall! |
 |
| Me peeking out from behind part of the waterfall - it was so exciting, I have never walked behind a waterfall before! |
 |
| Just so beautiful...loved swimming near the mini falls |
 |
| Also went to see another waterfall called: 'Veu da Noiva' translates to: Brides Veil, it is over 200m tall, so beautiful |

Relaxation Time!
This was an awesome weekend, we did a lot of things and spent many hours on a bus...but yet at the same time relaxing. I had so much fun, and we even survived between us with our little knowledge of Portuguese. I feel so blessed for the chance to see such beautiful places, have perfect weather (apart from being burnt!) and having a really nice relaxing time with friends...awesome weekend! :0)
