I have just finished reading this book about dreams and going after your dreams...
My dream was to come to Brazil and help change lives of children and young people...
Yes I am doing this, and it looks different from what I expected, but I am just at the beginning of my dream. Living your dream is not always easy either....but I think actually starting the journey to reach your dream is harder, the doubts, the obstacles in the way, losing focus on your dream, forgetting your dream - it took me nine years to get to Brazil after realising my dream. But WOW those 9 years formed me, developed my knowledge and experiences, grew my relationship with God, grew me, all helped prepare me for my dream and being able to keep following my dreams through the tough things
This book confirmed something inside me....how badly I want others to pursue their 'big dream'. How different people's lives would look like, how different the world would be if people actually went for their dream, there would be so many more happy fulfilled people, instead of trying to fill their gap (their I have not achieved my dream in life gap) with other things...
So, what is a 'big dream' - it is the thing inside you that you were created for, the thing deep down you desire. It is the thing that you can apply the gifts and talents you have to. Everyone has a dream inside them - you just have to decide if you want to pursue it. Everyone's dream will look very different, and in someones else's eyes the dream may seem small, or massive and not achievable. Your dream could be; bringing justice to the world, being a plumber, a nurse, a stay-at-home mum, a businessman, a zoo keeper, a missionary, a teacher, the list can go on forever!
But you know your desires, your passion, your Big Dream...
What would the dream you would think of and then dismiss too quickly thinking you are not good enough, too old, don't have the time, it's too unrealistic or too scared to even try and pursue, well...I say ignore those doubts and try, it is not going to be easy, but the hard stuff builds you up to actually be able to do your dream....So, stop, think, pray, what is your Big Dream?
You were created for your dream, only you can pursue it....don't live your life not completing what you were created for...
