The English Team...

The time has come to say goodbye to these awesome people that have been part of my life here at the Lighthouse over the last two months, they have impacted the ministry I have been involved in and bought fun to my social life too. I have enjoyed building friendships and memories with these 6 people...Willem, Dortje, Matt, Elsa, Jamie and Elisa...I will miss you!

But this post is more to thank you, I have done things that I don't think I would of done otherwise, or not this soon in my time here. Here is a quick look of what I have got up to with the team (for pictures, explore the past posts)....

1. Learnt to make candy floss - just not great at it!

2. Prayed for a women late at night in the slum, who had some real issues

3. Be more confident, as they relied on me when I took them out - so had to speak Portuguese too!

4. Been to a church service in the slum

5. Show people one reality of Brazil - prostitution (we went to the Red Light District)

6. Do partial translation - I was the middle person, I would translate their english into my knowledge of Portuguese and then the other person would say it properly in Portuguese!

7. Be involved in a roller disco for about 40+ children (SO fun!)

8. Many adventures with Açai (a berry found in the Amazon) and showing them other Brazilian food too

9. Been involved with dance lessons with girls from the slum - learning Ballet with Elisa

10. Done lots of different events in the community, praying for random people, chatting, and being involved in children's events.

You guys are awesome and have really blessed me...by me experiencing new things, but also by building friendships with you. Thank you!! :0)
