Fruit...?

As you know I am working with the integrated school programme. Last year the programme ran a little differently, with random 50 children turning up in the morning and another random 50 in the afternoon, so each week we had no clue who was coming, and if they had come last week or not. We decided that this year that needed to change, we wanted to find a way that we could work with the same children/young people for a while, so we could build relationships with them. So this year we have the same group of children in the morning/afternoon for 12 weeks, and then change to the next group of children.

Well our first 12 weeks are up...but what impact was really made?

Did they see Jesus through us, that we live our lives differently from other people? Did they learn more about morals and values for living a better life? Did they develop their understanding of how special they are - how God views them? Did they develop more skills in sports, swimming? Did they have fun? Did they learn anything while with us?

I have to say,  I don't think we will know what impact we made on these children/young people. I know we 'planted seeds' - gave them, showed them about Jesus and living life with them, we gave them opportunities to grow and develop in sports/swimming, we did fun things & we taught them things too.

Now we have to trust God, that whatever we did/taught these young people, God will use it to develop the lives of these young people....

  2. Thanks Adriel - really needed to hear that. I find it hard to think I am making an impact at all, especially as my language skills are still not great and cannot communicate or have a very good conversation with them!
