A little bit of joy...

As usual we went to a local hang out for street children. It is an amazing opportunity to hang out with them, and play games. This can also be challenging for me due to the language barrier - so this week I thought I would bring some more activities to do with the children/young people, than just playing UNO....to help build relationships and that we could do regardless weather or not we spoke the same language....so I bought some colouring pens, paper and nail varnish too...

It was a time for them to concentrate on something else - and to keep their hands busy too, which meant they had to put their rag soaked in paint thinner down...They were able to be creative, and gain some self confidence with us praising their work.

It also highlighted their talent - one young boy drew an amazing picture, it's just sad to see his talent being wasted as he is not going to school and living on the street, dependant on thinner....

It was good to see the joy on the faces, even if only for a minute...
