Girls Group...

The first week of my girls group with Beckie was a success...

We had only 5 girls on the first day, but 9 by the 2nd group. They are lovely!
The first session was more about welcoming them and organising things. Each girl has a book that we will be using throughout the year for writing Bible verses, and other things too. It is going to be a book focused on 'being me' and helping them discover who they are and how to live a life in Christ. So we started off with them decorating the front cover...

On the Thursday we wrote our first Bible verse in the books - Ephesians 2:10....about how we are a masterpiece of God. We are really looking at what the Bible says who we are
We also do physical activities with them too, so this week we went skating and we also had a dance lesson too...

Finally at the end of each session we reward the girls - as staff we each choose a girl to give praise too for something she has done during the session, so for example; helping a friend, being polite or helpful, trying really hard at an activity etc... We have a garden board and each girl has a flower stem, and will receive petals for doing something good....so we have a pot full of paper petal and a reward board...

So YAY - for a successful group...I just look forward to building relationships with the girls and being able to be a positive role model for them. I also look forward to the day when I do not need to be translated for everything and for me to understand what the girls say to me! It is going to be a good year!
