A Helping Hand...Part 2

This is a follow up on a previous post: A Helping Hand (check it out)

Well, do you want to know if a little helping hand, a little push in the right direction helped Marie...?

I am so happy to be writing this post. As I was really not sure of the outcome, especially once her month was up we had not heard from or seen her in a very long time. It had seemed like she had completely disappeared...

Sadly her and her daughter are in hospital (I know I said I am happy to write this post...just keep reading it gets better!) the house - well one roomed place she use to live in was mouldy and caused them respiratory problems, so they are recovering in hospital, but should be coming out today.

They will not be returning back to their 'home' as she has found a new better place for her and her daughter to live in a slightly different area, so hopefully she will no longer continue being harassed by people where she use to live.

She also has a job....she is training to be a baker!

I am just so excited to be writing this....a small and such a simple idea has changed the course of two lives! Yet we hardly did anything, we did a little push start, a bit of guidance, and Marie took it and ran with it, she continued to walk in the right direction on her own. She did not become dependant on us and didn't need extra help, she became independent, and now able to live her life, without so many extra worries about how to provide for herself or her daughter, and not needing to worry about their health as they move to a new location....she is finding herself a future!!

This story inspires me....how many more lives can be changed by such a simple scheme like this?

How many lives can we...you... change with a small helping hand...

  1. Wow, that is so awesome and so encouraging. I am so happy to hear about how Marie is doing as I got to meet her while we were in Brazil. She and her daughter are two beautiful people. I am so glad to hear that they are getting a new home. Thanks for sharing this story, Eleanor.
